On 18 May 2021, Ashab al Kahf militants detonated a roadside explosive device targeting a convoy carrying logistical materials for the US belonging to a contractor (Iraqi company and drivers) for the Global Coalition Against Daesh on an unspecified location along the international highway within Qadissiya province. No damages were reported. Coded as provincial capital Diwaniya city.
