Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA under Operation Savannah Shield have recovered two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the Kaiama–Woro road in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Security sources said the recovery followed a response to credible intelligence on an IED-related incident in the area.
The sources disclosed that the troops, in collaboration with a Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, were mobilised to the scene at about 2:10 p.m. on March 24.
“During the operation, the team conducted a thorough scan of the area and discovered two IEDs about 300 metres from the site of a previous explosion,” the source said.
According to the source, the recovered explosives were successfully secured by the police EOD team without any casualties.
