Clashes erupted early Sunday in Athens’ Exarchia district between riot police and masked individuals.

Around 4 a.m., a group of about 30 people threw stones and bottles at a police unit and set fire to trash bins at the intersection of Tzavela and Emmanouil Benaki streets.

The protesters later entered a nearby business and closed its shutters.

Authorities, with a prosecutor at the scene, detained 114 people following the incidents.
