On 13 March 2026, in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, a group of armed men in a pickup truck and a vehicle shot at state police officers in a rural area. State police shot back, triggering a chase and an exchange of gunfire along the road connecting Rincon de Centeno and Los Aguirre. The confrontation ended near an irrigation well, where state police shot and killed two of the attackers. Authorities later secured the area and recovered weapons and .223 caliber shell casings. No police officers were injured. 2 fatalities.
