Around 13 March 2026 (as reported), in Mondomo (Cauca), approximately 50 armed EMC FARC dissidents arrived in several trucks at the populated area along the Panamericana highway and opened fire at a military helicopter flying over them before retreating and entrenching themselves in local residences. Authorities state that the armed group were attempting to execute an attack with cylinder bombs against the Police and civilian population before retreating. This was in response to an explosive attack in Mondomo on 11 March (coded separately). It is unspecified whether the armed group left the area. There were no casualties.
