An explosion occurred during the night of Monday at an apartment building in Södertälje. No suspect has yet been arrested.
The first alarm came just before 1 a.m. The explosion blew out a door and damaged glass windows.
– It was a loud bang. The entire front door was blown away, says Henrik Dewoon Thorén, duty officer at the rescue service, to SVT.
No one was reported to have been physically harmed.
The incident that took place in the Ronna district is being investigated as suspected public danger and a violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
– We are now working to arrest the person or persons behind this. It is too early to say why this has happened, says Anna Lärk, police spokesperson.
At 03:30, the national bomb squad was ready at the scene and police technicians will begin their investigation. The rescue service also announces that there is no risk of landslides after the explosion.
