A 33-year-old woman was injured on Thursday afternoon after stepping on a landmine while collecting firewood in Minbya Township.

The victim, identified as Daw Aye Khaing Oo from Gam Ma village, was foraging with three other women at approximately 1:00 PM near the Yin Kwe Za Yat area in Kyaing Taung Mountain where a famous pagoda is located.

The explosion resulted in the loss of three toes on her right foot.
