Heavy artillery fire from the No. 15 Defense Products Factory (KaPaSa 15) in Aunglan Township, Magway Region, has burned Intawtha Village to the ground and forced approximately 7,000 civilians to flee, local residents told Khit Thit Media. The military has been shelling nearby villages since March 15, marking three continuous days of attacks. Artillery shells landed and exploded within Intawtha Village, starting a fire in the center of the village that has reduced homes to ashes. KaPaSa 15 has been persistently firing 122mm Howitzers; reportedly, about 30 shells were fired on March 15, seven shells on March 16, and no fewer than 13 shells starting from 9:00 AM today, March 17. In today’s shelling, rounds hit Intawtha Village directly. As of now, the resulting fires in the residential areas have not been extinguished. Residents noted that the military is firing heavy weapons indiscriminately despite there being no active combat in the area.
