Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) leader Sukru, who carried a reward of INR 5.5 million on his head, along with four other cadres, surrendered before the Police in Kandhamal District on March 24, reports Scroll. Director General of Police YB Khurania said that Sukru, who was a State Committee Member (SCM) of the banned CPI-Maoist, surrendered with an AK-47 rifle. Sukru, who hailed from Malkangiri District, was considered one of the last remaining Maoist leaders active in the state, he added.
