SAA event in Punjab, Chandigarh area, India on Thu 19th March 2026

On March 19, an individual identified as Chamanpreet Singh alias Chini was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Sector 9, Chandigarh, reports The Tribune. The assailants arrived on a motorcycle and fired 8–10 rounds at the victim near a gym when he was entering his car, before fleeing. The victim, a property dealer and a resident of Mullanpur (New Chandigarh), was rushed to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), where he succumbed to injuries. Police reached the spot, cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers.
