The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) cadres on March 17 killed three ‘death squad’ (State backed armed militia) operatives and captured another during a targeted strike in the Grari area of Washuk District in Balochistan at around 7:00 AM, reports Zrumbesh. While claiming responsibility of the attack, the BLF ‘spokesperson’ Major Gwahram Baloch said intelligence indicated that the operatives, under the patronage of the Army, had established a temporary checkpoint on the CPEC highway, harassing drivers and extorting money. BLF cadres surrounded and targeted the death squad. One of the killed operatives has been identified as Kahoor alias Manan, son of Mureed, resident of Mashkay in Awaran District. The identities of the remaining two deceased operatives are not yet known. The arrested operative has been identified as Chakar, son of Sher Muhammad, resident of Nag, whose interrogation is ongoing. During the operation, BLF cadres seized all weapons and equipment used by the death squad and set their vehicle on fire. The group, led by an operative named Sarwar and operating under Ali Haider Muhammad Hasni, has been involved in anti-Baloch activities, including extortion from transporters, according to the BLF statement.|A Police officer was killed after unidentified assailants opened fire in the Bakhtiarabad area of Kachhi District in Balochistan on March 17, reports Zrumbesh. The deceased officer was identified as Muhammad Bakhsh Sial. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
