On March 15, Security Forces (SFs) recovered four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and demolished four Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) memorial structures during a joint anti-Maoist operation in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh, reports Hindustan Times. The operation was conducted in the forested hill region between Hapatola and Binagunda villages under Chhotebethiya Police Station limits along the KankerNarayanpur border. According to Police, the joint team comprising the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Border Security Force (BSF), led by Commandant Manoj Kasana of the BSFs 94th Battalion, recovered three pressure-cooker IEDs (one weighing about 10 kilograms and two about five kilograms each) and one pipe IED from a concealed dump. SFs also seized Maoist uniforms, electric wire, firecrackers and Maoist literature. Memorials in Kalpar and Amatola villages were demolished, and the recovered IEDs were safely destroyed on site.
