SAA event in Punjab, Muhawa area, India on Sat 14th March 2026

On March 14, Police arrested two persons, identified as Amarjeet Singh alias Rohit, and Gursewak Singh and busted a cross-border arms smuggling module, and recovered an AK-47 rifle, three foreign-made Glock pistols and 36 cartridges near the Muhawa border village in the Attari sub-division in Punjab, reports The Tribune. The weapons were reportedly dropped by a Pakistani drone near Muhawa village, which were intended for delivery in the border district of Gurdaspur. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sohail Qasim Mir stated that the module was backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), with the accused in contact with two foreign-based handlers through encrypted mobile applications. Police also recovered two mobile phones providing leads on the cross-border network.
