On March 14, Police arrested two operatives, identified as Gursevak Singh alias Suraj and Amarjit Singh alias Rohit, linked to an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-sponsored terror and cross-border arms smuggling module in Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The New Indian Express. Police recovered one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 36 live cartridges, besides three sophisticated 9 mm Glock pistols. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that preliminary investigation revealed links with foreign-based handlers through social media and involvement in radicalisation and anti-India propaganda. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suhail Qasim Mir confirmed that the weapon consignment was routed through Pakistan for terrorist activities.
