The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) cadres killed one member of a ‘death squad’ (State-backed local armed militia), identified as Muslim, son of Ismail, in a targeted operation in Konshqalat area of Tump tehsil (revenue unit) in Kech District of Balochistan on March 4, reports Zrumbesh. BLF claimed responsibility for the killing. According to the statement issued by the BLF’s ‘spokesperson’, Major Gwahram Baloch, the cadres initially attempted to capture him alive for interrogation, but he attempted to flee after seeing them and was subsequently shot dead. The BLF further said that the individual had been operating under the patronage of Saeed Abid, whom the group described as the head of a ‘death squad’ active in Tump. The statement claimed he had been involved in informing on Baloch youth, facilitating enforced disappearances, and assisting operations against the local population.
