On 12 March 2026, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike targeting Hezbollah's financial institution, Al Qard Al Hassan, near Saint Therese Church in Al Hadath (Baabda, Mount Lebanon). An Israeli drone also struck the Lebanese University's Al Hadath Branch, killing Dr. Hussein Bazzi, Director of the Faculty of Sciences, and Dr. Mortada Srour, a professor at the faculty. Both were in the external courtyard at the time of the strike. The Israeli military stated it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure, including command centers, in Beirut, and the IDF said it destroyed 10 Hezbollah headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Total fatalities were at least 2.
