On 12 March 2026, US or Israeli warplanes (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) launched an airstrike targeting the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Special Forces Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces behind Imam Jaafar Al Sadiq University in Badr neighborhood of Kirkuk city (Kirkuk), killing 4 members of the PMF and injuring from 6 to 13 others, including 5 critically. All of them were Turkmen. The targeted PMF members belonged to the Popular Mobilization Forces 15th Brigade (Quwat al-Shaheed al-Sadr and Kataib Al Fatah Al Mubin). 13 injured,4 fatalities.
