On 12 March 2026, US or Israeli warplanes (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) launched three airstrikes targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces 19th Brigade (Ansar Allah Al Awfiya and Tashkil al Hussein al Thair) headquarters in the area of Akashat city (Al Anbar). It struck the medical headquarters, 2nd Battalion headquarters, and support unit. The aircraft continued circling and targeted arriving ambulance teams attempting to evacuate the wounded. At least 20 to 35 people were killed and about 90 injured. Fatalities coded as 35 based on Basnews (latest report).
