On 20 May 2021, an unidentified armed group threw an 'Energa' grenade in Bab al Tabbaneh (Tripoli), injuring two persons, based on preliminary reports. This is part of a series of events occurring between Lebanese and Syrians who have been casting their votes at the Syrian embassy for the Syrian presidential elections. Lebanese demonstrators had objected to Syrians voting for President Bashar Al Assad and called on them to return to Syria.
