On 11 March 2026, a US or Israeli helicopter or a warplane (coded as MFOUS as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) struck an asphalt factory (or a civilian oil refining factory) near Al Safra near Basakhrah Mountain (coded as Basakhrah city, Ninewa), close to Popular Mobilization Forces 30th Brigade (Shabak Militia and Badr Organization) positions which were likely the target. One warehouse belonging to the plant was damaged. Civil defense teams extinguished a fire in fuel tanks and containers. The factory might have been used by the 30th Brigade as a weapons depot. PMF units remained in their positions without evacuation. Security forces opened an investigation. There were no casualties.
