On 11 March 2026, in the morning, JNIM militants launched an attack on an advanced position of the Burkinabe special forces from the Rapid Intervention Battalion 30 (BIR 30) and the volunteer fighters (VDP) in the village of Nohao (Bittou, Boulgou, Centre-Est), killing 12 people, including 8 soldiers and 4 VDP. JNIM claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it killed 11 soldiers and seized weapons, military equipment, motorcycles, and other items, along with publishing photographs of the seizure. 11 fatalities coded as per the lowest estimate available.
