On 10 March 2026, near Nam Hkoke and Mya Lel villages (coded as Nam Hkoke) (Bhamo township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes on bamboo rafts used for gold mining along the Irrawaddy River using fighter jets and Y-12 aircraft at around 3 pm. Five rafts were struck and burned down, killing more than 30 gold mining workers.
