On 21 May 2021, a ranger stepped on an explosive booby trap and was wounded in Sue Dae village, Moo 7, tambon Sako (Su - Ngai Padi district, Narathiwat), as he and his team were traveling to rescue rangers who were wounded by an IED explosion earlier on the same day. The trap is believed to be planted by Malay Muslim Separatists as the area was a former separatist camp site.
