On 10 March 2026, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike in Khiyam town (Marjayoun, Al Nabatieh). At 3:00 PM local time, Hezbollah fighters fired a rocket barrage targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers south of the town in Wadi Al Assafir and near the Khiyam Detention Center. Hezbollah also stated that its fighters achieved a direct hit on two Merkava tanks, one of which caught fire. As Israeli forces attempted to recover the vehicle, they were targeted again by Hezbollah fighters. A third Merkava tank was destroyed in an ambush when Israeli forces attempted to recover their casualties. Fatalities unknown.
