On 9 March 2026, a mortar shell was fired from the Afghan side by the Afghan military, targeting a Pakistani military post along the disputed Durand line (around the Garu area of Goshta District, Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan) near the Halimzai area (coded as Halimzai, Mohmand, KPK). Afghan forces were said to have used mortar fire and an SPG-9 weapon, claiming to have destroyed the Pakistani post. No casualties.
