Projectile event in Rakhine, Ann area, Myanmar on Mon 9th March 2026

Around 9 March 2026 (as reported), near Ann town (Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), fighting broke out between the Arakan Army (ULA/AA) and the Myanmar military as the AA attacked the air defense base located at Nat Yay Kan Hill on the mountain pass between Ann township, Rakhine state, and Ngape township, Magway region. The Myanmar military columns, totaling 200 troops, also advanced to reinforce the area and the AA seized the outpost of Kyet Chann Kone along the Nat Yae Kan mountain range on the Ann-Padan road. The Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and drone strikes using jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft, and fired heavy weapons from Defense Equipment Factory No. 14, Son Kone Artillery Base, Zin Pyun village and the Padan-based No. 905 Artillery battalion during the clash. Casualties unknown.
