On 9 March 2026, military troops of COAS special intervention in collaboration with troops of Operation Fansan Yamma clashed with suspected ISSP fighters (locally called Lakurawa) in Kadam Forest, coded to the LGA HQ Gida Madi, also spelled Gidan Madi (Tangaza, Sokoto), killing 3 ISSP fighters while several fled with gunshot wounds. The troops recovered one PKT machine gun, two AK-47 rifles, 350 rounds of PKT ammunition,111 rounds of 7.62 Special,3 magazines, 2 radios, 3 motorcycles, and a mobile phone.
