On 9 March 2026, unidentified warplanes, likely American or Israeli (likely as part of the ongoing US-Iran conflict) carried out an airstrike targeting a base belonging to the 30th Brigade (Shabak Militia) of the PMF in the Qaryat Bazwaya village near Bashiqa subdistrict (Ninewa). The strike amid US-Israel-Iran hostilities crossing Iraqi airspace (no casualties). There were no casualties.
