On 8 March 2026, in Aung Thar Yar village (Ye township, Mawlamyine district, Mon state), fighting broke out between a column of about 200 Myanmar military soldiers and the local resistance groups at around 1:00 pm. The fighting lasted about 20 minutes. On the same day, another fighting broke out at around 4:00 pm and lasted about 15 minutes. Another fighting broke out at aroud 6:00 pm and lasted about 10 minutes. The Myanmar military (No. 317 Artillery Battalion) in Mawt Ka Nin village fired heavy weapons at least 7 times during the armed clashes. Casualties unknown.
