On 8 March 2026, in Ann township (Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with four jet fighters and four Y-12 transport planes on the detention center where prisoners of war were kept by the Arakan Army in Dar Let Chaung area from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm. The airstrike killed 116 individuals, including prisoners of war, and civilian detainees, and injured 32 detainees. The deceased prisoners of war included the military Brigadier General, military doctors including surgical nurse, a radiologist and the Myanmar military officers with the rank of Major. 116 fatalities.
