On 8 March 2026, an improvised explosive device detonated outside the United States Embassy in Oslo, damaging the entrance area and nearby property. No injuries were reported. On 11 March, three Norwegian citizens of Iraqi origin were arrested and charged with a terrorism related offense in connection with the attack. As of 13 March, four individuals, all family members, remained suspects in the case. The incident is reportedly linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
