On 8 March 2026, Wazalendo clashed with M23 around Rugari (Rutshuru, Nord-Kivu), Mutaho and Rusayo (coded separately). Casualties unknown. Heavy and light weapons were heard. Unclear whether FARDC were present. These clashes were linked to the M23 reinforcements from Rutshuru territory as they were attempting to reach Masisi territory when they were ambushed by Wazalendo inside Virunga National Park.
