On 8 March 2026, overnight, armed militants on motorcycles (likely ISSP, based on location) attacked the headquarters of the 42nd interarmes Batallion in Tahoua (Ville de Tahoua, Tahoua) and the Air Force Base 401 (coded separately). The army claimed that the attack was repelled and that the clashes resulted in the death of several militants, the arrest of five suspects, the slight injury of some Nigerien soldiers.
