On 7 March 2026, around 3:10pm Riyadh time, Iranian IRGC forces launched 1 one-way drone targeting the Louis P cargo ship (IMO: 9749336) around 10 nm north of Al Jubayl (coded to Coast of Al Jubayl) (Al Jubayl, Eastern) where it had left port earlier. The drone failed to hit the ship and the majority of the crew were evacuated safely, while the core crew remained. The IRCG claimed the attack, stating that the ship was a 'US asset' and that the strike was part of Iran's campaign against US and Israeli interests in the region. They also claimed that the attack hit the ship as well, but the captain denied it was struck. There were no fatalities or injuries.
