On 7 March 2026, military troops of Operation Fansan Yanma, in collaboration with other private security agencies, repelled an attack by a Zamfara militia in Yankaba village (Kaura Namoda, Zamfara). The attackers had stormed the community, shooting sporadically before the troops intercepted them. There were no casualties.
