SAA event in Burkina Faso on Sun 22nd March 2026

Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 | On March 22nd, shortly before noon, nearly one hundred Ansarul Islam (JNIM) terrorists ambushed a joint patrol of the security forces near Bagadé (Namentenga, Kuilsé, North-Central region), 45km east of Kaya. The toll is very heavy.

🔴 Nearly 20 soldiers and volunteers were killed, and others are still missing.

🔵 The soldiers were robbed by the terrorists, who claimed loot consisting of 19 M56 assault rifles, 3 PKM machine guns, dozens of magazines, cell phones, and 6 motorcycles.

🔸 The attack was claimed by JNIM, which released a shocking video showing about fifteen soldiers killed, some of whom had been set on fire.

⚠️ These events remind us that even if the security situation is improving in some areas of the country such as the Boucle du Mouhoun (Bankui) and Hauts Bassins (Guiriko) regions, it is deteriorating in the eastern regions of the country.
