A 45-year-old man has been shot at Mathildatorget in Solna, north of Stockholm, and has been taken to hospital. One person has been taken into custody.

– It is a bit unclear whether the shooting took place indoors or outdoors, but it does not appear to have been in a residence, says police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas.

The alarm came in at 10.18 on Tuesday morning about gunshots. A man was found with gunshot wounds and has been taken to hospital. According to the police, his condition is stable.

– Intensive work is now underway at the site, says Helena Boström Thomas.

On Tuesday afternoon, police announced that one person had been taken into custody following the shooting. Police have opened a preliminary investigation into suspected attempted murder.
