A major and several soldiers were killed when a joint force led by the KIA attacked a military base stationed at A Kywal Ywar Kone near Myitkyina, Kachin State, with heavy artillery, a KIA source told Khit Thit Media.
On March 11, the KIA and joint forces launched heavy weapon fire at the terrorist military base positioned on A Kywal Ywar Kone along the Shwebo-Myitkyina road near Myitkyina.
The attack resulted in the death of a major and casualties among other soldiers. This base is located on the highest hill in A Kywal Village, situated near the Myitkyina Nam Pong Airport.
The base is notoriously known for detaining travelers for extortion, collecting "taxes," and forcibly recruiting youths as porters.
