Three new military recruits from a military column operating in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, defected while bringing 3 rifles and ammunition, Yinmarbin District Military Command Officer Swan Thu Maung told Khit Thit Media.

On March 1 and March 5, three new recruits from the military column patrolling villages in Pale Township contacted Yinmarbin District Battalion 28 and defected with 3 rifles and ammunition.

The three defecting recruits brought two MA-1 rifles, one M-4 rifle with an under-barrel attachment, 150 rounds of ammunition, one hand grenade, and two landmines.
