SAA event in Songkhla, Thailand on Fri 20th March 2026

In a brazen attack, unknown assailants ambushed and shot at the vehicle of a Narathiwat MP from the Prachachart Party. The driver and a police escort were seriously injured. MP Kamolsak Leewamoh was unharmed.

Authorities are investigating the motive for the attack. The incident occurred at 1:00 AM today (March 20, 2026). The attack targeted the vehicle of Mr. Kamolsak Leewamoh, a Member of Parliament for Narathiwat Province, representing the Prachachart Party. Mr. Leewamoh and his entourage were returning from a parliamentary session, traveling from Hat Yai Airport in Songkhla Province.

Upon reaching the entrance to his home, unknown assailants opened fire on his Toyota Alphard van, injuring two people. Initial investigations suggest the attackers used a white four-door pickup truck as their getaway vehicle, ambushing the MP's black Toyota Alphard as he returned from his duties. Two passengers in the vehicle sustained serious injuries: Mr. Uchlam Kohloh, 55, the driver, and Police Sergeant Harirak Heemmina, 43.
