On 6 March 2026, in Hpakant town (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), fighting continued between the Myanmar military and the joint forces of the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) and the allied forces in the Ma Shi Ka Htaung ward. During the clash, the Myanmar military used heavy weapons and residents were forced to flee due to the clashes. Casualties unknown.
