On 6 March 2026, police forces (coded as bomb disposal squad) defused an IED containing over 8 kilograms of explosive planted by unidentified militants (coded as TTP) in Kaki tehsil (Bannu, KPK). Police opened fire on three suspects trying to detonate the devices remotely during the drone surveillance and the militants retaliated. After a brief exchange of fire, they escaped into nearby bushes.
