On 6 March 2026, Afghan border forces and Pakistani military forces clashed in Ghulam Khan border area in North Waziristan district (North Waziristan, KPK) followed by intensive shelling in Khost province in Afghanistan. A series of escalated retaliatory cross-border firing, shelling, and air strikes targeting military positions began between the two sides, after Pakistan conducted air strikes on claimed TTP targets inside Afghanistan on 21 February 2026 (coded separately). Casualilties unknown.
