On 6 March 2026, Nigerian troops engaged a Zamfara militia in a firefight in Dan Ali village (Dan-Musa, Katsina). The militia had crossed the border into Katsina state, attempting to attack Alhazawa village in a reprisal for killing 4 of their members. The four militants were killed the previous day when the community clashed with them and repelled their attack (coded separately). The troops clashed with them and killed 45 militants, while they lost 3 soldiers. There were 48 fatalities.
