On 6 March 2026, ISSP clashed with the Nigerien army near Dessa (Tillaberi, Tillaberi). ISSP claimed to have killed at least 8 soldiers, injured others, as well as seized one vehicle. Twitter sources confirmed the attack reporting the death of 20 soldiers and the injury of fifteen others. Other sources mentioned the death of 21 military personnel, including a lieutenant. 8 fatalities coded, as per the lowest estimate available.
