On 5 March 2026, near Monywa town (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), the Area 71 People's Defense Force (Monywa), the Wild Buffalo Guerrilla Force, and the Golden Peacock Attack Force conducted a mine attack against the Myanmar military's convoy of trailer trucks transporting acid from Sagaing LID-33 to the Wanbao Company, and a 12-wheel truck convoy carrying ammunition and supplies to the Northwestern Command, using cluster mines, along the Chaung-U-Monywa road around 7:00 pm. The Myanmar military soldiers indiscriminately fired back with both heavy and light weapons. Casualties unknown.
