On 5 March 2026, unknown gunmen targeted the house of the former 8th Brigade leader (Ahamd Al Awda) in Busra Esh-Sham town in Dara countryside, with several RPG rockets, causing material damage to the house where his family live with police members protecting them, while Al Awda surrendered himself to the Ministry of Defense in Damascus on February 22. Casualties unknown.
