On 5 March 2026, Alhazawa defense militia clashed with a Zamfara militia that crossed the state boundaries into Katsina state to loot cattle in their village, Alhazawa, coded to the LGA HQ, Musawa (Musawa, Katsina). The defense militia, comprising youths and repentant militants, repelled the attack and killed 4 marauders while recovering the looted cattle. The assailants returned the following day for a reprisal attack but were attacked by the military at Dan Ali village (coded separately).
