Around 4 March 2026 (as reported), in Bhamo town (Bhamo township, Bhamo district, Kachin state), the Kachin Independence Army (KIO/KIA) attacked and took control of a frontline outpost of the Myanmar military IB-236. The Myanmar military based in Waingmaw town fired heavy weapons to response the capture of the outpost. Casualties unknown.
