Rocket event in Al Nabatieh, Khiyam area, Lebanon on Wed 4th March 2026

On 4 March 2026, armed clashes broke out between Hezbollah militants and Israeli forces in the southern neighborhood of Khiyam town (Marjayoun, Al Nabatieh). At approximately 6:30 PM local time, Hezbollah detonated an explosive device and engaged an infiltrating Israeli force directly, claiming the attack caused casualties among Israeli soldiers. Later, at around 8:30 PM, Hezbollah militants fired a rocket barrage targeting Israeli forces in the Khallet Wadi Al Assafir area, stating the attack was in response to Israeli strikes on dozens of Lebanese cities and towns, including Beirut's southern suburbs. Hezbollah also reported launching another rocket barrage at the same location later in the evening. During the escalation, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike, and Israeli forces fired artillery shells toward Khiyam. 1 Hezbollah militant was killed in the attacks.
